The waves of Santa Teresa and Malpais are famous throughout the world.  A variety of waves and breaks makes it the perfect spot for surfers of any skill level. Whether you're just starting out and are looking for a world class lesson, or have surfed for many years and are searching for another memorable wave, you're sure to find what you're looking for in Santa Teresa. Long stretches of surfable beaches, as well as some point breaks and some reef breaks. Several more great breaks are only a short drive away.

One of the best breaks in Santa Teresa, known as the Banana Beach Break (formerly known as the Luz de Vida Break), is located right next to Casa Helena. Stay at Casa Helena and walk out the door to an amazing break. Many surf contests have been held there.
